Service Opportunities
Volunteering with VSAE is a meaningful way to get more involved, give back to the association community, and grow your leadership skills. Whether you're looking to expand your professional network, build experience in governance or program development, or share expertise with your peers, VSAE offers a variety of service opportunities to match your interests and availability.
Below is the list of current volunteer opportunities. For questions about any aspect of volunteering, please contact David Walsh.
Current volunteers must re-apply each year.
Committees Committees play a vital role in advancing VSAE's mission--from shaping educational programming to recruiting new members and promoting signature events like Annual Conference.
Committee service runs May 1 - April 30 each year.
COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE Organize community service and fundraising activities that support Virginia-based charities recommended by VSAE members.
Time commitment: Two virtual meetings per year (60 minutes each); participate in charitable activities at Annual and Fall conferences and member luncheons (including the Awards Luncheon).
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Support the growth and engagement of a thriving and inclusive membership, in alignment with the association’s mission and strategic objectives. Facilitate recruitment and retention initiatives, provide input on programs and services, and serve as mentors to new members.
Time commitment: Quarterly virtual meetings, each no longer than sixty (60) minutes. Approximately three hours of work separate from meetings focused on recruitment and retention.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE Review, plan and implement relevant, engaging educational programs and initiatives that align with VSAE's mission and strategic objectives.
Time commitment: 2-3 hours twice a year reviewing and grading session submissions and two, 90-minute meetings (virtual) per year (Spring and Fall).
