About VSAE

The Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE) is the professional community for association leaders and industry partners across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Since 1949, VSAE has provided education, connection, and leadership opportunities designed specifically for professionals working in and alongside the association industry.

As the only organization in Virginia focused exclusively on serving association professionals, VSAE brings together executives, staff professionals, meeting planners, consultants, and industry partners from trade, professional, technical, and nonprofit associations throughout the state.

VSAE exists to help association professionals grow in their careers, strengthen their organizations, and build meaningful connections with peers facing similar opportunities and challenges. Through educational programming, networking, and shared learning experiences, VSAE supports professionals at every career stage.

Today, VSAE serves over 400 members through a variety of year-round programs and events, including:

  • Annual Conference
  • Fall Conference & Expo
  • Educational seminars and webinars
  • Shared Interest Groups (SIGs)
  • Leadership and networking programs
  • Community service initiatives

Many VSAE educational programs offer continuing education credits toward the Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credentials. VSAE also offers CAE Study Groups to support members pursuing certification and professional advancement.

In addition to live programs, VSAE keeps members informed and connected through Association Press, digital communications, and online member resources.

Service to the community is also an important part of VSAE’s mission. Through volunteer and charitable initiatives, VSAE members have supported organizations including CARITAS, Feed More, and Habitat for Humanity.

At its core, VSAE is about bringing people together — helping Virginia’s association community learn, connect, lead, and grow together.
