Education and TrainingToday's challenges and realities demand fresh learning approaches that are flexible, collaborative, and results-oriented. VSAE offers a range of in-person and virtual learning programs to meet all needs and all levels. Whether you are new to the association community, looking to sharpen your skills, advancing to the next level, or seeking new ideas and solutions, we've got you covered. In-Person Seminars: Held the first week of February, March, April, June, September, and November in Richmond, they cover key topics in the association field. They are accompanied by an optional networking reception and luncheon or breakfast with a short educational presentation. In addition, in-person seminars are held quarterly in Northern Virginia. Virtual Learning: Each VSAE virtual seminar offers at least one hour of CAE-approved educational content. In addition to virtual learning customized to address our members' educational needs, VSAE partners with other state SAEs in providing live monthly webinars and access to 70+ self-study courses. Annual Conference: This three-day event is held annually in early May and brings together hundreds of association professionals from across the Commonwealth to connect, learn, and grow. SIG meetings are also held at this event. Earn up to 7 CAE hours. Fall Conference: This event is held annually in October. In addition to association professionals, this event targets professional meeting planners from all markets - social, government, and corporate. Earn up to 6.25 CAE hours. Specialty EventsVSAE also hosts CAE-approved programs focused on specific topics and areas of interests. Shared Interest Groups (SIGs): SIGs are a great way to learn from fellow association executives about the issues keeping you up at night. These member-led groups are organized around areas of interest and offer a forum for you to discuss what matters most to you. And SIG attendance qualifies for CAE hours! Association Leadership Virginia (ALV): Through this year-long cohort-style program, participants learn about their communication styles and how they impact their personal leadership; map out a plan to achieve their goals regardless of career stage; and apply these leadership lessons as they learn about the important aspects of running a membership association. Earn up to 32 CAE hours. CEO & Senior Staff Retreat: This is a two-day retreat held in September for CEOs, Executive Directors, and other senior staff leaders. Earn up to 11 CAE hours. Meeting Planner Summit: This two-day summit held in July targets executives and association staff who plan meetings. Earn up to 6 CAE hours. |
