About Special Olympics Summer Games:
Summer Games is one of the thousands of competitions we offer throughout the year. The athletes and coaches you will meet at Summer Games have trained for a full sports season in order to qualify to compete. More than 1,300 athletes will be going for the gold at Summer Games in swimming, track & field, bocce, bowling, tennis, and softball competitions. We are incredibly grateful to more than 3,000 community volunteers like you who make Summer Games possible. Because of you, we can continue to reveal the champion in all of us!

Check-In
Your Group Leader will check in with your venue's Volunteer Coordinator, who will be wearing a bright EVENT STAFF shirt. When you check in, please turn in your Event Volunteer Release Form. All volunteers must bring a photo ID with them to our check-in table and sign our release before engaging in any volunteer service. Each volunteer will receive a yellow volunteer wristband, which will be your identification during Summer Games. Please wear your wristband at all times. You will receive specific information and training for your volunteer role once you reach the location of your role.

Directions & Parking:

• Take I-64 West toward Charlottesville
• Take exit 177, I-295, towards Washington D.C.
• Take I-295 for 7 miles to Woodman Road South
• Exit at Woodman Road South and follow Woodman Road 0.1 miles to the first light (Mountain Road)
• Go left on Mountain Road for 0.3 miles and Glen Allen Softball Complex is on the right, directly across the street from the Virginia Randolph Special Education Center.

*Plenty of parking will be available at the complex, but we do encourage carpooling!*
