2024 Board Applications
The Nominating Committee is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 VSAE Board of Directors November 7 - December 15. The board, comprised of 15 directors, helps set the strategic direction for VSAE. The committee is looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds, skills, experiences, and expertise who are committed to giving back to the association community and helping shape the future direction of VSAE.
How many board positions are available?
There will be three open positions.
What criteria will the Nominating Committee use to select board candidates?
The minimum requirements of board candidates are that they 1) have been an Executive member of VSAE for at least two years, 2) attend VSAE events regularly, and 3) have served on or chaired a VSAE committee or task force. Knowledge and experience in areas of association management such as strategy, finance, staff management, and other areas are also considered.
Who is the ideal board candidate?
VSAE wants its board to include individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, expertise, and experience so that it can make well-rounded decisions that reflect its entire membership. The Nominating Committee seeks board members committed to giving back to the association community and dedicated to advancing VSAE's strategic direction.
How much time does board service require?
Board members are expected to make every reasonable effort to attend the three board meetings (March, September, December) and the two-day board retreat in May. Board members also asked to attend the Annual Conference, Fall Conference, and Awards Luncheon and Silent Auction, in addition to other educational programs and activities. Board terms are two years with the next term beginning May 1, 2024, through April 30, 2026.
When are applications due?
The deadline for submission is December 15, 2023.
